You must set the sales tax at three locations :

a ) In the section ''Configurations of sales taxes'' in the ''Generals configurations''.

b ) In the form when you are creating the products.

c ) In the territories.

a ) In the section ''Configurations of sales taxes'' in the ''Generals configurations'' :

Log in your administration.

Click on the button ''My web site''.

You are automatically directed in the section ''General Settings'' - ''Generals configurations''.

Click on the icon ''Configurations of sales taxes''.

The tools to configure sales tax will appear.

Click the down arrow next to ''Tax 1:'' and using your mouse, choose the option ''Active''. If you select ''Inactive'', you can not set taxes.

In the field ''Name:'' enter the name of the sales tax.

In the field ''Percentage:'' enter the percentage of sales tax (5.50 for example).

Repeat steps 5, 6 and 7 to configure other taxes. It is not mandatory to configure other taxes, you can configure one or more of the other two available, depending on the number of taxes applicable in your country.

b ) In the form of products :

To learn how to go to the description of your products, see the question ''How to see the list of my products ?'' of the category ''Management of the products and the categories'' de la FAQ.

In the product file, locate the function ''Tax''. The sales tax you see are those that you configured in step a ).

Automatically, the sale tax is active. If you want the tax is applied to the product price at time of billing, leave the field of the charge in question as it is.

If you do not want the tax to be applied to the product price at time of billing, click the down arrow to the tax you do not want to apply and select ''Inactive''.

c ) In the territories :

For information about configuring the territories, see question ''How to create my territories?'' of the category ''Configuration and appearance of my Web site'' de la FAQ.

In the section to create and manage territories, the taxes you will see are those that you configured in step a ).

Automatically, the tax is inactive. If you do not want the tax to be applied to the product price at time of billing, leave the field of the charge in question as it is.

If you want to activate the tax, click the down arrow and choose the option ''Active''.
